Don't want to be picky old pal, but the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambo is based at Coventry (even with no licence, they have dispensation from CAA). Its The County Air Ambulance at H'penny Green - they cover Midlands & Welsh Borders.

I learnt at Sywell and can further vouch for Mick, and Sywell just goes from strength to strength, especially with the new runway (maybe you can use that when you are flying on the darkside!). Sounds like you enjoyed the lanes as much as I did when I re-did them the other week with some friends I had picked up from Birmingham International.

I've just posted my application to join the HCGB, so hopefully look forward to seeing you at some of their events later in the summer.

Hi Mike,

A totally superb and satisfying day's work for you, Joel and EWAW. Just what helicopters were invented for. Well done guys!

As for the film's with helicopters in, I have 3 favourites. Deadly Encounter with Larry Hagman starring and flying a Hughes 369. Birds of Prey with David Jannsen, again flying a Hughes 369. Some amazing flying sequences. And finally, Blue Thunder - The Movie with Roy Scheider flying the souped-up Gazelle being chased by another Hughes, 500. It seems the movies are fond of the 500 series.

Kind ragards.....Sven

Dear Mr Jones:

I am a big fan of the Huges 500c and am impressed with what you have done so far as in restoring this Famed Bird back to it's original condition but l also found a few coincidences as l read your article.
Well for 1, your name is Lee Jones and that is my younger brothers name and also, my Dad was born in Everton England and raised in Liverpool before emigrating to Canada back in the 50's and me Mum was born in Manchester England as well.
My Cousin was a Squardron Commander on the Ark Royal back in the 60's and 70's flying Seakings and is now from what l believe is also a curator of a Museam in Manchester (or there about's) in regard to restoring old Royal Airforce and Navy Aircraft .( His name is Alan Jones)
The 500C was the very first helicopter that l flew in and by far , the most versitile and speedy of them all.
It could fly circles around a Bell 206 and even a Gazelle .
Maybe it's just the luck of the Irish (or could we say Welsh ) but l find that these coincidences could just be that or maybe they were just something waiting to happen .
What ever they are , l; just wanna say that l am looking forward to the rest of your article on your restoration and could you please forwardyour other information in regard to it to my e-mail if you have the time.
Good Luck and l look forward to when it gets off the ground.
Your Truly
